How to care for your printed t-shirt (so it lasts)
Share
Buying a high-quality South African graphic t-shirt is one thing.
Keeping it looking good is another.
Whether your shirt was produced using DTF printing in South Africa or DTG printing, proper care will extend its lifespan significantly.
Here’s how to care for printed t-shirts correctly:
Wash cold
Hot water breaks down fibres and can shorten print lifespan.
Turn inside out before washing
This reduces friction on the printed surface.
Use mild detergent
Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Air dry when possible
Tumble drying exposes prints to high heat and mechanical stress.
Don’t iron directly on the design
If ironing is necessary, turn the garment inside out or place a cloth between the iron and the print.
DTF prints are durable and flexible.
DTG prints integrate into the cotton fibres.
Both benefit from low heat and gentle care.
If you treat your Trash Panda original properly, it will outlast trends - and probably a few bad jokes too.
