Returns and refunds – online sales

At Trash Panda, we respect consumer protection laws and align with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) to ensure fair and transparent policies. Here’s what you need to know about returns and refunds when shopping with us.

Our general returns policy

  • You have 5 days from the date of delivery to notify us if you want to return your order.
  • You may return your order for any reason, provided the item is unused and in its original condition (including packaging).
  • Returns and cancellations are without penalty, but the cost of returning the item is your responsibility.
  • Refunds are processed once we receive and inspect the returned item.

If you believe we’ve messed up and sent you something defective, drop us an email at theheadpanda@trashpanda.shop with your refund request and banking details. Then, send the item to:

No exchanges – choose wisely, young padawan

We don’t do exchanges because our shirts are printed on demand. Every item is custom-made to your exact specifications – we don’t keep stock, and swapping sizes or styles isn’t feasible.

To make sure you get the right order the first time, please double-check these before checkout:

Size matters

Every product page includes detailed size guides and product information. If you pick the wrong size, let us know ASAP at theheadpanda@trashpanda.shop – we’ll do our best to update your order before printing begins, but once it’s in production, we’re locked in.

🎨 Colour variations

We do our best to match colours accurately, but stock availability affects shades. Black is black, white is white, but greys and navys can vary slightly. If in doubt, check the product details page linked on each product page.

👕 Style selection

Make sure you’re choosing the correct apparel style – whether it’s a t-shirt, sweater, or hoodie. Hoodies do not cost R299. If they did, they’d be cheap crap, and we don’t sell cheap crap.


If your shirt arrives damaged

If we’ve somehow messed up and sent you a damaged item, follow these steps:

  1. Email us at theheadpanda@trashpanda.shop with your banking details and a description of the issue.
  2. Send the damaged item back to us at the address listed above.
  3. Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll notify you via email and process your refund.

If two weeks have passed and you haven’t received your refund, email us at theheadpanda@trashpanda.shop, and we’ll sort it out.


No refunds on sale items

Only regular-priced items are eligible for refunds. Sale or discounted items cannot be refunded.


Your consumer rights under the CPA

The Consumer Protection Act (CPA) provides additional protection for online shoppers. Here’s how it applies to your purchases with us:

📦 1. If you haven’t seen the goods before purchase

Under Section 20 of the CPA, you have the right to inspect your order upon delivery. If:

  • The goods don’t match what was promised, or
  • A custom order doesn’t conform to the agreed specification,

You can:

Refuse delivery
Request a full refund
Cancel the order without penalty

📌 Important: You must submit a written return/cancellation request within 5 days of delivery, and we’ll refund you within 15 days of receiving your return.

🛠 2. Implied warranty of quality

Under Section 56 of the CPA, all products come with a guarantee of quality. This means your purchase should:

✔ Be fit for purpose
✔ Be free of defects
✔ Be in good working order

If your item doesn’t meet these standards, you have 5 days to request a refund. However, we cannot accept returns if:

🚫 You ignored care instructions and damaged the item
🚫 The apparel has clear signs of use
🚫 You were made aware of a specific defect before purchase and agreed to it

🔄 Refunds, repairs, and replacements

The CPA states that customers have the choice between a refund, repair, or replacement – unless otherwise specified by law.

🚫 We cannot force you to take store credit – if you want a cash refund, you’re entitled to one.

📌 If we’re at fault, we’ll cover return shipping costs and the cost of a repair or replacement.
