The process – from order to delivery (and why it takes 5–15 working days)
Share
When you order a Trash Panda original, you’re not pulling a pre-printed shirt off a dusty shelf.
You’re starting a production process.
We produce custom printed t-shirts in South Africa, made to order, using professional DTF and DTG printing techniques. That means real people, real equipment, real timelines — not instant mass fulfilment.
Here’s exactly what happens.
1. Order received
The moment you place your order, it’s logged and verified.
Within 24 hours, your apparel order is released to our courier and delivered to our print partner. We don’t stockpile pre-printed garments — every piece is printed fresh against your order.
2. Order details sent to our printing partners
Your size, garment type (Classic T-Shirt, Crew Neck or Base Hoodie), colour and artwork are sent through for processing.
At this point, your garment enters the production workflow.
3. Artwork preparation and approval (2–3 days)
Our printing partner prepares your design for output.
For DTF printing:
- The artwork is mirrored.
- Colour layers are prepared.
- A white underbase is added for opacity.
- The file is optimised for PET film printing.
For DTG printing:
- The file is prepared for direct fibre application.
- Colour calibration is checked against cotton absorption.
For certain large, solid block designs, we choose DTG over DTF. Why? Because DTF at high coverage can begin to feel like a heavy transfer. DTG integrates directly into the cotton fibres, giving a softer finish on big prints.
This preparation stage can take up to 2–3 days, depending on queue volume.
Quality matters more than speed.
4. The print queue
Once approved, your order enters the print queue.
For DTF:
- The mirrored design is printed onto PET film.
- Hot-melt adhesive powder is applied while ink is still wet.
- The sheet is cured.
- The transfer is heat-pressed onto your garment at controlled temperature and pressure.
DTF printing in South Africa is versatile and produces vibrant, durable prints with excellent washability.
For DTG:
- The garment (100% cotton for best results) is printed directly.
- Ink bonds into the fibres.
- The print is cured to set the pigment.
DTG printing works best on cotton — which is why we use 100% combed cotton blanks for our Classic T-Shirts.
This stage typically takes around 2 working days.
5. Quality check
Every garment is inspected.
We check:
- Print alignment
- Colour vibrancy
- Adhesion
- Fabric integrity
- Sizing accuracy
If it doesn’t meet standard, it doesn’t ship.
6. Courier collection and delivery
Once approved, your order is packaged and handed over to the courier for delivery to your door.
From order placement to delivery, the full production window sits at 5–15 working days, depending on queue volume and courier schedules.
That timeline isn’t accidental.
It reflects:
- Made-to-order production
- Professional DTF and DTG printing
- Cotton-based quality garments
- Multi-stage quality control
Why we don't rush it
Fast fashion moves quickly because it’s pre-printed, pre-stacked and mass-produced.
We don’t operate that way.
We produce South African graphic t-shirts that are printed fresh, on quality garments, with attention to detail.
Could it be faster?
Yes.
Would it be as good?
No.
Trash Panda originals are made properly. That’s the difference.
