Why our lead time is longer (and why that protects you)

When you buy a Trash Panda original, you’re not buying a finished product sitting on a shelf.

You’re buying into a supply chain.

And like any real supply chain — there are moving parts.

We don’t hide that. We build around it.

The reality behind custom printed t-shirts in South Africa

Every order moves through multiple stages:

  • Apparel sourcing
  • Courier collection and delivery
  • Print preparation
  • Artwork processing
  • Print queue
  • Quality control
  • Final delivery

Each step involves people. Systems. Timing. Coordination.

And anywhere people are involved, there is potential for human error.

Not often. But possible.

Where things can go wrong (in real life)

Let’s be honest about it.

  • A size could be picked incorrectly at source
  • A courier could be delayed
  • Artwork could require adjustment
  • A print could fail quality check
  • A machine could go down temporarily
  • A queue could spike unexpectedly

None of these are daily occurrences.

But they’re real.

And most brands solve this by doing one of two things:

  1. Overpromising and scrambling to recover
  2. Shipping anyway and hoping you don’t notice

We do neither.

Our lead time is a buffer — not a delay

Our 5–15 working day turnaround isn’t because things are slow.

It’s because we’ve built in space to get things right.

That window allows for:

  • Reprints if quality isn’t perfect
  • Adjustments if artwork needs refining
  • Delays in courier movement
  • Proper queue management
  • Final checks before anything leaves

In other words — it protects you from receiving something rushed.

We aim to deliver sooner (but we won’t promise it)

Most orders move faster than the full window.

But we don’t build our business on “hopefully”.

We’d rather:

  • Underpromise and deliver early
    than
  • Overpromise and disappoint

That’s a conscious choice.

Why this matters

When you order a South African graphic t-shirt from Trash Panda, you’re getting:

  • A made-to-order garment
  • Printed using DTF or DTG methods
  • On quality materials
  • Checked before it ships

That only works if the process has room to breathe.

Fast is easy.

Right takes a little longer.

The bottom line

We don’t rush your order because you shouldn’t have to deal with the consequences of that.

The timeline exists so that when your shirt arrives, it’s exactly what it should be.

No surprises. No shortcuts.
